Cousins, Manchester

Project Overview

The burnt-out, derelict shell of the ex-uno furniture store was purchased by Cousins and plans were immediately drawn up with work beginning the following month.  From the roof down, this was always going to be a high profile, top drawer specification within  a very tight time frame.

The new construction included a 80,000 sq ft suspended ceiling, 40,000sq ft of mezzanine floor and 150 individual room settings with all the relevant flooring, lighting and ambiance controls.

The stunning contemporary exterior comprises of some 45,000 hand-made bricks, 80 tons of natural stone and 5 tons of imported Italian granite finished with a hand-made, high-level aluminium cornice.

The end result has exceeded all expectations and is a direct result of an excellent working partnership between Macaulay Jones and the client Cousins.
